Due to expansion of the team, we are on the lookout for a Commercial Accountant to join our team in Peterborough on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role
As Commercial Accountant you will provide a focused, comprehensive, and pragmatic accounts service, advice and support to managers and employees in line with AHF policies, procedures, and legal requirements to meet the needs of the business. The role will be reporting to the Finance Director and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet of the company, alongside its cash flow and systems controls.
Key Tasks:
- Assisting the Finance Director in all aspects of Cash flow management
- Completion of the annual budget and interim forecasts
- Ownership & preparation of the Management information including ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the information back to the management reporting, including insightful commentary leading the user to the key points.
- Lead developer for all new management reporting in the business as requested by the executive team, but the role is also expected to suggest reporting based on a sound commercial knowledge of the business.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet including monthly control account reconciliations
- Overseeing the management of the purchase ledger function
- Overseeing and assisting with the completion of the quarterly VAT return (includes Partial Exemption)
- Control of company capital expenditure and fixed asset schedule
- Key liaison for year-end audit, including preparation of files and assisting with onsite audit.
- Key Liaison for third parties
- Ensuring the integrity of the ERP systems and the financial system
- Prepare regular reports on compliance and activity for presentation
About You
To be considered as our Commercial Accountant, you will need:
- Experience of undertaking Accounting and/or reconciliation administration duties
- PC literate, to include Microsoft and Excel
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload to ensure deadlines and personal objectives are met
- The ability to develop effective working relationships with people at all levels
- ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified or Fully Qualified
- AAT Qualification
- Able to demonstrate commitment to developing a career in Accounts
- Management experience would be desirable
